Locking this as there are enough open discussions about themes already, which is why this was closed long ago in the first place. There is currently a list in the wiki documenting known unofficial themes. For example, the theme linked in this comment ( #8822 (comment)) is made by the very same person who implemented the unofficial themeing functionality in qBittorrent.įinally, a rest to my eyesight! So, is this an official theme? Are there any others to check out? Just to call this case closed.Īs mentioned, these themes are unofficial. I should note that some themes are not only free software, they are actually made by qBittorrent contributors, which should ease concerns about trustworthiness. qBittorrent is based on the Qt toolkit and libtorrent-rasterbar library. Additionally, qBittorrent runs and provides the same features on all major platforms (FreeBSD, Linux, macOS, OS/2, Windows). If, on the other hand, you choose to trust a binary from some random forum on similar, that's your responsibility, and any damage resulting from that is on you. The qBittorrent project aims to provide an open-source software alternative to Torrent. The "safety" paradigm is exactly the same - at the end of the day, anyone can inspect the source and build themselves. Īs for the "potentially unsafe part", they are as safe as any other free software project, so this is a moot point. Furthermore, this page documents how they are made, and how to make one yourself. Unofficial theme support actually a feature that was recently implemented precisely to address the demand for themeing on platforms that don't natively support system wide (dark) themes, like Windows, while "official dark theme" is not implemented. Its packaged in Format so it can easily integrate with the Platform. qBittorrent is a fast, lightweight bittorrent client with a familiar interface. If you wish to create a new theme, please read the following document. Installed themes can be selected in the 'Options/Themes' WinRAR menu. Perhaps unintentionally, this comment reads like FUD. A new version of qBittorrent Portable has been released. Just download a theme archive and open it in WinRAR to install. Given that unofficial, possibly unsafe, installers are popping up to satisfy the demand for dark themes, this should become a priority for the official qBittorent team. For more information about theme development and structure, click here. You are welcome to do it yourselves, all qBittorrent users would be thankful. No reason? Yes there is, and it is very simple: no one is making that contribution. I already have all my apps and windows itself in dark mode, switching to high contrast is an ugly/clunky answer. It's 2020 there is absolutely no reason for qBittorrent to not have a native dark theme. Im about to reinstall windows due to a driver issue and in thinking about how I would set it up differently the lack of a dark skin/mode in Qbittorrent has me serioiusly considering another client. Now try running qBit with one of these: Reset your qt. Exit qBittorrent and make sure its fully closed. Make sure you disable custom theme in qBit. Specifically DARK themes, and specifically Monokai! Now try running qBit with one of these: Enable dark theme in Windows OS settings.
